Reclaimed Lumber in Colorado

8/17/2015 7:50 AM

Plenty of people love reclaimed lumber. This is because the wood is rich in history and it has qualities that show it has been built to last. It is not easy to get good reclaimed lumber and the main sources of it are from old buildings like factories, barns and warehouses that contain large volumes of wood. Most of the reclaimed lumber is made from oak, pine and chestnut. The best part about reclaimed timber is that the sources of it are a good size making them easy to work with and convert into other furniture or for other uses.

Simplify Your Donations

The thought of reclaiming, reusing, and recycling can send your mind into overload; “I don’t know where to start” or “it takes to much time so it doesn’t fit in to my already overloaded schedule.”  Sometimes it does require some extra effort on your part but on the positive side, it doesn’t have to always be a pain in the neck and it can be painless to a busy schedule.  And, once the process becomes part of your routine, it becomes as natural as getting dressed in the morning.  And, donating your clothes has become more convenient than ever thanks to those donation boxes you see in parking lots everywhere.

Imagine the warm glow of a stoked stone fireplace nestled below a ceiling of beautiful reclaimed lumber that once supported the framework of a barn in Fayetteville, Arkansas for nearly 100 years.

In the West we use a simple yet functional approach to art, architecture and homebuilding. New isn’t always desired up against the rugged upslope of the Rocky Mountains- there is nothing more breathtaking than a home rather than taking away from its surroundings, supplements it with it subtle unrefined beauty and practicality

Why take the time to reclaim and repurpose rather than to start from scratch? You give this material a chance to be repurposed into another useful life as a decorative masterpiece that will truly give your home that rustic and unique western feel.
